Save Share.Peanut ports appeared I recall in 1978 or there about Peanut port heads had large open chambers, 119-122 cc standard oval port open chamber heads.the first ones appeared on 2v fleet engines in 1969. There the junk peanut ports so I am going to replace them should I get rectangle port heads or go with oval ports? Any suggestions would be nice would like to keep it under 1500 thanks. I am currently running a 177 blower with a square port intake on oval port heads. Car ran high 11's, then I switched to a set of 215 closed chambered. The first set were a set of 236 peanut port heads that had some mild porting and stock valve sizes on them. I was running a low compression (7.9 comp) 461 BBC engine for some testing with heads the last few years. How good will L-29 heads be over Close Chambered BBC heads.
